VTOS - EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR UNEMPLOYED ADULTS

VTOS IS “VOCATIONAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES SCHEME”.
VTOS gives unemployed adults the opportunity of returning to full time education without losing their benefits.

ELIGIBILITY

• Applicants must be 21 years of age or over
  

• unemployed for at least 6 months
  

• in receipt of certain social welfare payments

BENEFITS

• Getting back to education
  

• Payments at least equal to your social welfare benefits plus you may qualify for a bonus payment of €31.80 per week
  

• Meals and travel allowances
  

• Free books, examination fees and class materials
  

• Childcare support is available in certain circumstances

COURSES

• VTOS students may pursue Junior Certificate, Leaving Certificate or avail of PLC Courses in Cavan Institute.
