'Supporting Providers of Further Education in delivering quality-assured programmes and services to learners'

The Further Education Support Service (FESS) was established in 1997 to support centres offering FETAC Awards. The Support Service is a full-time, year-round, national consultancy service which is regionally based in five Vocational Education Committees.

 The Support Service currently supports the Department of Education and Science funded Providers registered with the Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC), and all Providers offering FETAC Level 1 and 2 Awards. These centres are divided between the FESS Support Officers on a regional basis.  Support is provided through national, regional, local and online initiatives.

The funding for this service is provided by the Department of Education and Science.

The FESS Northern Office is based within Co Cavan VEC and supports Further Education Providers in Counties:

Cavan	City of Galway
Donegal	Co Galway
Leitrim	Roscommon
Longford	Sligo
Mayo	Monaghan
