Transition Year is a one year programme between the Junior and Senior cycles. It acts as a bridge between the two cycles, helping in the transition from the more "dependent" learning of the Junior Cycle to the more "independent self-directed learning" of the Senior Cycle.
There are currently 28'000 students doing TY in nearly 600 schools.
